Steps for enrollment at Patten Academy of Christian Education (PACE): |
The process of enrollment at the Patten Academy of Christian Education prior to final acceptance includes but is not limited to the following and file is considered complete when it has:
1. Submission of properly completed application forms and registration:

4. Entrance evaluation (grades K-12) all applicants are subject to an on-site evaluation as may deemed appropriate by the Admissions Committee and the classroom teacher. Admissions Decisions
Completed applicant’s file and evaluation are reviewed and a final decision is made. Admission decisions fall into one of three categories:
Clear Admission
Students applying for clear admission must demonstrate through formal test, informal test, prior grades and teacher recommendation that they can perform in three core areas: reading, math and language within the acceptable range established by the academic committee. A clear admission is reviewed yearly for continued enrollment. A clear admission for the following school year is given to students who:

Preferred
- Strong Christian commitment by the student’s family.
- Reasons for sending their children to the school are spiritual as well as academic.
- Children are academically prepared to perform at grade level or above.
- There is evidence of a wholehearted support for the school and its standards.
- Secondary school students express a personal desire to attend the Academy and willingness to conform to school policies.
- Recommendation by a Patten Academy family or local pastor who supports the Patten Academy of Christian Education.
- Preferred applicants are given 1st available openings by the date of application with those remaining given places on class waiting list by priority of date returned.
Acceptable
- Reasons for application are primarily academic but feel Christian principles and training are desired.
- Non-Christian but shows a strong desire for “religious/Bible” teaching.
- Will read and sign the Parent-Agreement Statement indicating agreement and support of Patten Academy policies.
- Acceptable applicants are given the places remaining after all preferred applicants are placed.
- Openings are available after class waiting list students are placed.
Not Accepted
- Serious differences with the school’s mission statement, Biblical base and/or doctrine.
- Child’s background of academic, emotional, or discipline do not match the school’s resources.
- Denied applicants are notified in writing with a statement attached to each denied application stating the general reason(s) for the decision.

Clear Admission
Students applying for clear admission must demonstrate through formal test, informal test, prior grades and teacher recommendation that they can perform in three core areas: reading, math and language within the acceptable range established by the academic committee. A clear admission is reviewed yearly for continued enrollment. A clear admission for the following school year is given to students who:
- are performing at or above grade level;
- have attended school regularly; and
- have demonstrated compliance with school policy and regulations during the previous school year.
