Expected Schoolwide Learning Results

Critical Thinkers



Students will be expected to be Critical Thinkers who:

Look beyond the obvious and utilize effective reasoning and questioning strategies to achieve clarity and understanding of newly acquired knowledge.

Analyze, interpret and synthesize information and concepts across the curriculum.

Analyze, integrate and synthesize new information and weigh prior knowledge in the light of Biblical knowledge and Judeo-Christian values.

Demonstrate capabilities in logic and reasoning, informed decision-making, problem solving and conflict resolution.

Practice creative and critical thinking in real life situations.

 

Active Learners



Students will be expected to be Active Learners who:

Acquire and use basic learning strategies for information search and retrieval using technology (computers and other media).

Develop a discipline for study and for the timely completion of tasks and assignments.

Continually develop the intellectual, spiritual, health and practical aspects of their lives.

Demonstrate grade level proficiency in the State of California content and performance standards in the areas of reading, language arts and mathematical reasoning; and graduate meeting the University of California and California State University curricular standards.

Demonstrate versatility and adaptability in life skills such as goal setting, time management, developing an education plan beyond high school, and career planning.

 

Effective Communicators



Students will be expected to be Effective Communicators who:

Develop and practice good social skills and are able to collaborate with others.

Demonstrate efficacy in communicating information, ideas and concepts using technology and other media.

Listen actively and speak and write clearly and correctly.

Creatively express themselves through and across many disciplines.

Clearly communicate Biblical truths and Judeo-Christian values.

 

Committed Christians



Students will be expected to be Committed Christians who:

Recognize God as the author of truth, order, creativity and morality.

Exhibit knowledge of Christian doctrine, traditions and moral teaching as a basis for responsible and informed decision-making.

Integrate, identify and apply Bible knowledge and principles across the curriculum.

Choose Christian actions that reflect honesty, integrity and respect.

Practice self-discipline and responsible behavior in personal and social situations.

 

Community Contributors



Students will be expected to be Community Contributors who:

Are mindful of the needs of others and give of their time and talents as active participants in their church and community.

Develop and appreciation and understanding of cultures in their community.

Practice good ethics at school, at home and in the community.

Respect and contribute to the health of their natural environment.

Actively participate in the democratic process in their city, state and country.
