Religion Courses



The Tom Patten Chapel is available to students to spend time in devotional prayer and Bible reading.
Classes also have scheduled time of prayer to help students get closer to the Lord.

REL 101 - Bible Survey I and II
A survey of Old Testament content, including books, authors, key individuals, and a time line. Required for ninth graders and new students.

REL 102 - Bible Introduction
An introduction to how the Bible was preserved and translated from the early manuscripts to our present English translations.

REL 103 - Christian Life and Ethics
A study of how the Bible relates to the life of the Christian believer. The course includes problems faced by young converts, methods of evangelism, and controversial moral issues facing the Church today.

REL 201 - Acts
A study of the Christian church in the first century focusing on the book of Acts and what it reveals about the Church's life and growth.

REL 202 - Heroes of the Faith
A study of missionaries and evangelists who have maintained the foundations of the Church, including men and women like, John Wesley, Hannah Whithall Smith, Dwight L. Moody, and Phoebe Palmer.

REL 203 - Life of Christ
A study of the life of Christ from all four Gospels. Attention is directed to the outstanding events establishing Christ's divinity, His methods of preaching and teaching, the content of His discourses, and the fulfillment of prophecy in His life and ministry.

REL 204 - Prison Epistles
An indepth study of the writings of Paul from prison, i.e., Romans and First, Second and Third John.

REL 301 - Theology
A study of biblical doctrines, including God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, the Scriptures and the Church.

REL 302 - Men and Women of the Old Testament
A study of the lives of Old Testament men and women of God. Characters include Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Ruth, Sarah and Hannah.

REL 303 - Men and Women of the New Testament
A study of the lives of New Testament men and women of God. Characters include John the Baptist, the disciples, Mary, Paul and Dorcas.

REL 401 - American and World Religions
A comparative study of American nontraditional religions and Eastern religions, i.e., Hinduism, Islam, etc., in light of the Christian faith.

NOTE: Intensive studies of single biblical books may also be offered.
