Mathematics 40 units (Algebra I and Geometry)
Science 30 units
Social Science 35 units (including World History, U.S. History, and U.S. Government
Physical Education 10 units in the first 3 years
Electives 25 units
In addition to the requirements listed above, a student needs to select either Physics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Field Ecology-Anatomy/Physiology, or Computer Science.
 

General Education Diploma

English 40 units
Foreign Language 10 units
Mathematics 30 units
Science 25 units
Social Science 30 units (including U.S. History, and U.S. Government
Physical Education 5 semesters out of the first 3 years
Electives 5 units
 
A total of 240-250 units, including electives, are required for students attending Patten Academy for four years.
 
A total of 230 units, including electives, are required for students attending Patten Academy for six semesters or less.
 
Students seeking a college preparatory diploma must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0. A general education diploma will be awarded to a student whose GPA is less than 2.0 even though the College Preparatory course requirements have been met.
 
Patten Academy does not graduate students at midyear regardless of the number of units earned.
Courses offered in summer sessions of local public high schools or at junior colleges may be taken for credit only with the prior approval of the Patten Academy administration.
